Tip Fortuna Dusseldorf Mönchengladbach
on 15 February 2020
After a 1-1 draw at Wolfsburg, Fortuna Dusseldorf are sixteenth and twenty two points behind next opponents Borussia Monchegladbach. The two sides meet with Gladbach hoping to double their victory over Fortuna having won the first leg 2-1, while the hosts will be hoping to level the scores. For Fortuna, beating Monchengladbach is not atypical as they crushed them 3-1 in the second leg of the last seasons. In their most recent league match, Fortuna lost a 1-0 lead achieved through a Matthias Zimmerman strike in the thirteenth minute. They allowed the hosts to score in the 50th minute, just two minutes after the home fans watched Marin Pongracic receive his matching orders. At home, Fortuna have won twice in their last six matches of all competitions. In three of the games at least four goals were scored and three times Dusseldorg lost without scoring. Gladbach were set to play FC Koln last week but a storm forced the cancellation of the match. This, in essence, gave the team a two-week break to strategize. In their last league match, Gladbach lost a two-goal advantage to draw 2-2 with Leipzig. Alasane Plea and Jonas Hofmann had scored in the first half, but second half blunders allowed Patric Schick and Christopher Nkunku to equalize. Gladbach's away form is challenging their efforts to reach the top position as they have only won once in six travelling games in the league. Three of the team's last six away matches had over 2.5 goals scored two of which ended with 2-1 scorelines. We expect coach Marco Rose to have rectified the defending gaps that have led to his team's recent weak performance ahead of the Fortuna visit. Dusselddorf will try to score early in the match but it is unlikely that they will concentrate up front without leaving gaps behind.
Our bet explained
- Fortuna have won twice in is home matches.

Our Fortuna Dusseldorf Mönchengladbach tip
As Fortuna are struggling to avoid relegation, they will be determined to get a win from this match. But Gladbach are not a pushover and will give them a hard time. From afar, we expect Gladbach to win, but with their characteristic lack of focus after taking a lead there is a chance that they will allow the hosts a comeback. As such, we see at least three goals being scored by full time.
